AUCKLAND: A world cup wall chart, recording the scores from the 2002 finals, has stunned pundits by fetching $23000 at auction. The rare wall chart, which incorrectly records the score of a group H match between Russia and Tunisia, is thought to be the only one of its kind in existence.

The match which resulted in a 2 - 0 win to the Russians was incorrectly filled in as a 2 - 0 win to Tunisia by wall chart owner and football enthusiast Mick Bowman (13). Bowman didn't know it at the time, but his error has gone on to net him a cool $20000 after expenses.

This is thought to be the first time an incorrectly filled out wall chart has sold for such a sum so quickly after a tournament has ended.

The chart however has a long way to go to match the record price paid for an item of its kind. An incorrectly filled in wall chart from the 1986 World Cup was recently sold at auction by Christies for a staggering $420 000.
