| LONDON: The London Wanderers Cricket Club 3rd XI today issued a press release announced the signing of an overseas player, Warren Smith from New Zealand.
Smith, 28, formerly of the Eastern Suburbs Cricket Club in Wellington described himself as an all rounder, able to do "a bit of both" batting and bowling.
Smith expressed pleasure at joining London Wanderers, noting that is was only a 15-minute bus ride from his flat. He was also pleased to note that it has a good bar, and is "supposed to be pretty social." A spokesman for London Wanderers noted that Smith seemed like a nice guy, and that hopefully he would also bring some mates along to the club. He was also quietly hoping that Smith might be able to help out behind the bar on the odd night.  |
