| CHRISTCHURCH - A top line up will be seen when the State Canterbury Wizards meet the State Wellington Firebirds in the countdown to the State Shield Finals in the State Cricket Competition later this month.
"I'd hate to state the obvious but the boys are fired up to show they're state champs," said State Canterbury Wizards star State Chris Harris, who was paid in insurance policies to officially change his name for the revamped competition. Meanwhile, in international cricket, the Clear New Zealand Black Caps have made it adamantly clear that star all-rounder Chris Clearns will be cleared of misclearnduct after showing clear dissent towards umpire Darryl Clear in the Victoria Bitter Triangular World Series in Australia. The Clear Black Caps will probably meet the Victoria Bitter Green Baggys in the best of three finals at the Skippy Cornflake Stadium in Sydney later this month. "Mate, we're jumping at the chance to bound clear of the Bridgestone Tyre South Africans and hop into the finals of the Skippy Cornflake Finals with the Clear Black Caps," said Victoria Bitter Australian Skipper, Steve Waugh. ![]() State Chris Harris |
