| WASHINGTON: President George W. Bush today announced a polar shift in U.S. policy towards Iraq, following his recent purchase of Marvin Gaye’s 1971 album “Whats Going On”. Bush apparently purchased the CD for $9.99 at a Washington K Mart, following advice from Secretary of State Colin Powell that Marvin Gaye was “right on.”
Aides reported music coming from the Oval Office throughout the morning before Bush called a press conference for 1pm. “Brother brother” began Bush to the assembled press corps. “There’s no need to escalate. You see war is not the answer. For only love can conquer hate. You know we’ve got to find a way, to bring some loooooving here today. Ohhhhhhhh” The announcement came as a surprise to commentators who were expecting Bush to announce an increase in the number of forces to be stationed in the Gulf. Bush continued “C’mon talk to me, so you can see, what’s going on, whats going on, yeaahhhhhh you tell me what's going on.” Eyes closed and head gently swaying, Bush then concluded the press call with approximately 5 minutes of free jamming “dee dee dee’s and dooo dooo dooos.” ![]() George W.
