UN Renames Committee of Sustained Development - Committee of Unbridled Exploitation

NEW YORK: UN Secretary General Kofi Annan announced today that the name of the Committee of Sustained Development would be changed to the Committee of Unbridled Exploitation. Speaking at the United Nations Millennium Summit in New York, Annan hoped the name change would pave the way for "a future of unbridled exploitation" of the Earth's remaining natural resources.

The Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD) was established by the Economic and Social Council in 1992. In his speech, Annan said that the CSD was initially set up as a token gesture to ensure the "non-binding Principles for the Sustainable Development of Forests Statement was given lip service." Since then the Commission has largely been involved in aiding disputes between "altruistic Multinational Corporations and various Third World trouble makers such as women, youths, indigenous peoples, environmentalists, non-governmental organizations, local authorities, workers and other irritants."

The name change would accompany a change of focus for the Committee. The charter of the Commission would be altered to assist Multinational Corporations in their dealings with these undesirables. "In the past Multinational Corporations, particularly in developed nations, have been unnecessarily hindered by pesky laws and pressure groups," Annan stated. The CUE will work towards steamrolling these disruptions in order to promote an era of unrestrained greed, immorality and lawlessness amongst Multinational Corporations and business leaders alike."

After Annan's speech, fifteen Native American Hopi Indians, were executed and devoured in a blood crazed initiation ceremony for the newly formed Committee.
