"Absense makes the heart grow" - Fonda

BURBANK: Super celebrity Jane Fonda has reported startling new results based upon the findings of her privately funded research into Heart Disease. In her first press conference in three years Fonda told reporters about that absence from friends or loved ones has the tendency to make the heart grow, by up to 3 centimetres in diameter.

Fonda (53), better known for her film, television and exercise video performances then her research into heart disease conducted the trials by measuring the size of subject's hearts over a period of five years. During each measurement subjects filled in a questionnaire stating the current location of their spouses and extended family members. These distances were then correlated with the physical size of the subjects heart, their blood pressure and other general physical measurements.

The research was conducted in the Jacuzzi and Gymnasium area of Fonda's mansion in Beverly Hills, which had been specially converted into a world-class science laboratory for the course of the experiment.

A number of celebrity stars aided Ms Fonda in her research including madcap comedienne Roseanne Barr, stylist to the stars Rupert DeBussey, Supermodel Fabio and Academy Award Nominated Actor Denzel Washington.

Fonda will continue her research into Heart Disease for the foreseeable future. The celebrity scientist also hopes to extend her research interests into finding a cure for cancer as well as battling Alzheimer's disease.
