HAMILTON: A Hamilton based band, featuring that bass player who used to play guitar in a band in New Plymouth and that drummer from that band that begins with 'V' or 'W' or something, may or may not have broken up some time in the last two weeks.

Band. Split up?

In a month that has probably seen some movement in the local alternative rock scene, the rumour has been greeted with a mixture of surprise, indifference and quiet reflection.

“Are those the guys who opened for those Auckland guys at that gig in that Bar that time?” asked local music fan Michael Watson, “One of them wore a jacket?”

Upon further prompting, Watson agreed that the band were “pretty good, from memory” before concluding, “I think Shane knows one of them, or one of their brothers went to school with Shane, before he took off for Perth or London or Mexico or somewhere.”

The band could not be reached for comment. It is unknown whether they ever got round to setting up a MySpace page, or if they kept it up to date if they did or did not have one.
