| AUCKLAND – Production has begun on Canwest’s new interactive reality show Rock Star: Wiggles. The Rock Star format was made famous by Rock Star: INXS in 2005 and was followed up with Rock Star: Supernova in 2006. ![]() Who will win the final slot in the New Zealand Wiggles
Rumours have been rife following Canwest’s purchase of the Rock Star format earlier this year. This coincided with an exclusive purchase of a New Zealand Wiggles franchise for an undisclosed sum and Stephen Fleming’s recent shock retirement as New Zealand one-day cricket captain. Spinner can confirm that former Black Caps skipper Stephen Fleming will front the New Zealand Wiggles, alongside TV3 News presenter John Campbell and comedian Raybon Kan. Together, they will judge performances of the Rock Star: Wiggles contestants and ultimately pick a fourth member for their band. Each week, viewers will get the chance to vote for their favourite contestant, with the three contestants with the least number of votes performing a Wiggles song the following night. The members of the band will then decide which contestant will be sent home. Rock Star: Wiggles will screen on TV3 and C4 from August.
