| ATLANTA: Fans of all-American hero Bruce Springsteen are today crushed and angry to learn that their idol was not in fact born in the USA. Documents released by the Uzbekistani Embassy in Washington prove that Springsteen was born Mahamdkadyz Abdullaev, only son of peasant parents from Tocheaya, a small village on the eastern steppe. He came to America as an exchange student in 1963, successfully claiming political asylum a year later.
Cult classics such as My Hometown, Glory Days and The Ghost of Tom Joad, earned Springsteen a place in the national consciousness as defender of the underdog and champion of blue collar America. Springsteen fan, Buford Pickens (49) of Scrote County, Kentucky, said that he had not felt so betrayed since he found out that Billy Joel’s 1982 anthem Allentown, was not in fact a real place. The NRA has joined the Klan and the Autoworkers Union in calls for The Boss to be deported back to his home country. "He ain’t got no right to be a hollerin’ ‘bout ‘Nam an’ Rosalita ‘n stuff like that when he ain’t nothin’ more’na phoney ass commie piece a shit" an official spokesman said today. The uproar comes only weeks after John Cougar Mellencamp was outed by the southern media as a vegetarian. |
