| MINNEAPOLIS: Prince, formerly known as The Artist Formerly Known As Prince or [symbol], has decided to launch a competition open to 4-13 year-olds. The 80's pop icon turned 90's pop symbol would like a new name in order to attract the modern record buyer.
"This seems to be the age range that has dictated pop music sales since the Spice Girls. So we thought we'd ask the kids themselves what they want in an aging pop-star of the new millennium," said Marvin Feldman, PFKATAFKAP's long-time marketing and promotions manager. The winner will receive 6,000,000 limited edition silver-painted "symbol" pendants, 200,000 collector's item Prince action figures from his 1986 film Purple Rain, 400,000 colouring books from the same film, and 200,000 sets of 30 purple-coloured markers. "He wants a terrific new name, kids. The zanier the better," said Feldman. ![]() The purple one. |
