| LONDON: The celebrity couple they said would never survive have just reached another milestone. On Thursday, the World’s most famous Wookie, Chewbacca and Bungle the Bear from the Rainbow television series celebrated their fifth anniversary.
Although the pair were overseas celebrating their anniversary at a secret beach resort in the Mediterranean, long time friend and downstairs neighbour Jack Powell, was happy to answer questions for the many reporters and well wishers who gathered outside their Olympia flat on Thursday. Powell who read from a prepared statement thanked fans on the couples behalf. He then stated that the couple were extremely happy to be celebrating five years together and were both looking forward to celebrating many more years together in the future. A specially baked cake was then accepted by Mr Powell on behalf of the pair as a gift from the East Anglia branch of the Star Wars fan club. “I do feel sorry for Bungle some days though,” Powell later confided to reporters at the Ox and Barrow a popular area pub. “Often, when Chewie gets aroused, there’s no reasoning with him. Some days, Bungle must just have to grit his teeth and try to ride out the onslaught. No doesn’t mean shit to a 200 kilogram Wookie. Especially after a few pints of beer at the Hope and Anchor.” The pair, who met while guesting on “The Clive James Talk Show,” have been living together for 4 years, and are both strong advocates for the introduction of same gender marriages in the United Kingdom.
