| Nolte fires third Attorney |
Friday, 25 July 2008 13:33
| IOWA (Billboard) - Ceder Rapids Daily: Profligate Hollywood actor Nick Nolte has fired his third attorney in his attempts to be released from the County Sherrifs 'detox cell'. Nolte, thrown in Ceder Rapids most temporary detention cell has been resident there since last month when his Chevrolet Plymouth left the main town centre street and ploughed into Reesbys Electronics store. Nolte failed a straight line test but refused to give a blood test. Nolte is alleged to have shouted "If any of you hillbillys try to take one drop of my blood I'm gonna raze this sh*thole to the ground". The current stalemate is due to Nolte's appointed defence attorneys (mandatory under Ceder Rapids unique legal bylaws) allegedly sabotaging his release procedures in order to allow tourists to visit Nolte in his cell. Nolte has sent a letter to the Govenor of California pleading that he be rescued from Iowa before he 'strangles them all with their twine belts'. Governor Schwarzenegger, seemingly oblivious to Nolte's legal plight, stated that Nolte should 'get a lawyer, and go to the gym'. |

| Courtier Wows With Amazing Lute Solo |
Friday, 20 June 2008 00:00
| June 18 1575: LONDON: Thomas Harking, a courtier of her majesty Queen Elizabeth I, has amazed his peers with an incredible lute solo.
Mr Harking, already known as "the fastest fingers in all of Buckinghamshire" was playing a merry tune for his Queen's entertainment when he began peeling off some amazing riffs.
He leapt in the air, his stockinged legs apart, and came down on one knee during the sudden solo.
"Mr Harking's fingers did fairly fly over the wooded instrument at his hand," Lord Chisholm of Surrey said.
The lute solo went on for around three minutes, before Mr Harking retired to his quarters with a chambermaid. |
| Jack Black plays entire Tenacious D album to casual acquaintance |
Wednesday, 07 May 2008 10:32
| Jack Black, Hollywood movie star and half of comedy rock duo Tenacious D, played the entire Tenacious D The Pick of Destiny album to casual acquaintance Rodney Lee on Friday evening. Lee and Black met at a mutual friend’s house, and Lee accepted Black’s offer of a lift after they discovered they were both attending the same party later that evening in Los Angeles. According to Lee, the Tenacious D album started playing on Black’s stereo immediately after he started his car.
“At first I was a little surprised that he would be listening to his own album in the car, I even thought he might be embarrassed being caught out listening to his own band, but he just looked at me and said ‘Alright Wonderboy!’ before turning up the stereo and launching into the chorus.”
According to Lee, Black became more and more animated and excited as the album progressed.
“I thought he would just play one song as a joke, but whenever a new song started he would turn it up louder than the last one and say, ‘Oh man you have to hear this one!’
“There were certainly times when I feared for my life. He was driving down the interstate singing at the top of his voice, looking over at me the whole time. He probably should have been spending more time looking at the road - he almost drove into the back of a delivery van during the guitar solo of Master Exploder."
The Tenacious D onslaught didn’t stop until the pair arrived at the party.
“It got a little awkward near the end of the ride. We got to the party and I went to get out of the car, but Jack insisted that I sit in the car with him and listen to one last song. This went on for three songs. Luckily someone else drove up to the party, or I else I could still be sitting there… He offered me a ride home, but I decided to get a taxi.”

| Even Natalie Imbruglia's MySpace only has 1 Hit |
Tuesday, 06 May 2008 20:45
| AUCKLAND: Bored internet surfer Wayne Jones has unmiraculously discovered that even Natalie Imbruglia's MySpace page has only had one hit since it's creation in 2007. The petite Australian singer had a huge hit with her song Torn back in the 90's, but hasn't made an impact on the pop charts since. "I was surfing around on myspace and wondered if she had a page," stated Jones. "It was a little depressing to see I was the first person to view it, but not really that surprising, I guess." After listening to the song Torn for about 30 seconds Jones went on to visit the myspace pages for the Starlight Vocal Band, Nena, and the Crash Test Dummies. He didn't bother asking for a friend request on any of the pages. |
