Olympics start some time this month

AUCKLAND: The Olympic Games are starting again some time this month. It is understood that the event will attract a large number of competitors, media folk and fat, bored looking American tourists.

At time of press little is known about the events at the Olympics. They usually have lots of gymnastics and heaps of people running around tracks and throwing things. It is also anticipated that swimmers will take part again this year.

As with previous Olympics it is anticipated that some nobody will come out of nowhere to win some medal that no-one thought they would win and go on to make really tedious appearances on Holmes and assorted Weet-bix commercials. It is also anticipated that a couple of favourites will bomb out terribly and make tearful excuses on the aforementioned show. These people will no longer be permitted to appear on television commercials.

The Olympics will be held in Sydney this year. America will win all the medals, only white people will compete in the swimming and the Australians will spend the rest of infinity patting themselves on the back for winning some gold in some event that people didn't even know existed.

I'll probably watch most the games on the tele interspersed with episodes of "Donny and Marie" and "Hollywood Squares".

They usually have swimming at those Olympic Games things.
