New York : Forbes Magazine has announced their 100 poorest people for 2004. In what has become their biggest selling issue Forbes has discovered that the net worth of the Worlds poorest 100 people has dropped again from last year's all time low.

After two years of falling fortunes, the collective net worth of the world's 100 poorest dropped a further 0.5 cents to an all time low of 12 cents. This equates to an average net worth of $0.00012 per person.

The title of world's poorest person goes to Ahmad Gbujama of Sierra Leone, who despite working 70 hours a week has a net worth of $0.0000000001.

Considering that the net worth of the World richest person, Bill Gates is $46,600,000,000 the poor have a long way to go before they will be trotting around the golf course at Redmond .

Forbes magazine editor Paul Maidment was less than complementary about the impoverished state of the worlds poorest. “We in the West have been propping up these layabouts like Gbujama for too long. Surely it's time something was done to alleviate our suffering.”
