| AUCKLAND:
New Zealand’s favourite weather presenter Jim Hickey
has announced he will not renew his contract with TVNZ.
<p class="copy"> “I’m
gonna be gone-burger,” quipped Hickey. “I’m
off to Palmie North to get flipping over the old hot-plate.”
Well known for his wit and misappropriation of popular slang, Hickey announced that he would be moving to Palmerston North to be near his aging parents. He also has aspirations to open his own burger shop in the town. “I want to come up with a menu that reflects Kiwiana and, of course, my own special brand of humour. So there’ll be a Hickey Burger, a Gone Burger and a Come Burger.” When asked if there would be a Fur Burger option, Hickey looked quizzically and said he would take that suggestion on board.
