| AUCKLAND – Following a legal case in Italy where McDonald’s restaurants have sued an Italian food critic for $43 million for critiquing McDonald’s food, McDonald’s Corporation New Zealand have launched suits against three New Zealand children for announcing their dislike to McDonald’s burgers and fries.
Juliette Watson, 6, is being sued for $12 million after she told her Aunty Joan that her cheeseburger was “yucky.” Rhys Te Meke, 10, is being sued for slanderous remarks of his Happy Meal after announcing to classmates that his hamburger tasted “bad” and the toy that came with the meal was “gay.” McDonald’s are seeking $34 million dollars from Te Meke. A larger case has been brought against James Buffet after he told his school canteen lady that her food was much better than McDonald’s. He allegedly elaborated that while her fries were “chunky, perfectly fried and delicious,” McDonald’s fries taste like “sharp shards of shit and oil.” While her burgers were “mouth-watering mounds of freshly ground beef, served between the softest baked buns amidst a bed of crunchy, juicy hand-reared salad that could have been picked this very morning,” Buffet allegedly claimed that a Big Mac at McDonald’s was a “sloppy, grey dollop of gristle that tastes like fat-soaked cardboard set within tiny two-day old buns and a slimy brown bed of caterpillar shat-on lettuce.” McDonald’s Corporation is seeking $210 million in damages from Buffet, and may also be behind a smear campaign waged against the 13-year-old from Browns Bay. An anonymous article was last week sent to Buffet’s school newspaper claiming that he has had a crush on his school canteen lady for two years. A spokesman from McDonald’s New Zealand, Martin McDavison, said Ronald McDonald had been very hurt by the slanderous remarks. He also wanted to reinforce that Ronald also told him that good little McConsumers had no reason to fear the corporation. |
