| PARNELL: Although 22-year old account manager Cindy Baker likes to tell as many people as possible that she works in advertising, very rarely does she offer details about what exactly she does within the industry. Indeed sources close to Baker suggest that she consistently deflects questions regarding her day-to-day activities and repeatedly steers conversation back to more general advertising related topics.
"Cindy is always the first to ask anyone what they do for a living, in fact it's the first thing she ever asks anyone she meets," said long time friend and Human Resources Assistant Trudi Miller. "And when eventually they ask Cindy what she does for a living she always smugly mentions that she works in advertising." When pushed for a more specific job description Ms Baker matter of factly states that she is an Account Manager, before abruptly changing the subject. "Cindy is very touchy about the accounts she manages and as such is very good at diverting attention away from such questions." If pushed she may say things like "we, meaning her company, manage such and such's account, but she will never ever mention the ones she specifically looks after. In fact, if someone is persistent in their questioning, she will get irritated and go and talk to someone else. She doesn't handle it very well at all." Baker a marketing graduate from Unitec, began working as an Account Manager for a small advertising agency in Parnell after graduating in 2000. Initially Baker was responsible for writing point of purchase information for Mr Mango's Toilet Spray, before moving on to the more prestigious Hewson's Dried Baby Briskets account. Baker has also helped work on Samtech Industries Stain-Buster 2000 while a colleague was on honeymoon last October. ![]() Evasive Account Manager Cindy Baker |
