| ALTLANA: The Coca Cola Company has launched Coke's new advertising slogan in Atlanta today. The new slogan Coke Adds Life, Coke Taketh Away will be plastered on advertising billboards, advertisements and sports teams across the world from Friday.
Coca Cola President Hal Williams Snr. explained the rational behind the new slogan. "For too long our continual yet subtle hints that Coke is indeed the all powerful omnipresent one have been overlooked and ignored by consumers." "The public, at their peril, have been too slow to recognise that our previous slogans Coke is It, You Can't Beat the Real Thing, and Always Coca Cola were not created to stimulate a casual purchase of our product but to warn consumers of the consequences of not doing so." "We are sick of our warnings being overlooked. For once and for all we at the Coca Cola Corporation of Atlanta Georgia have decided that our new slogan will make it perfectly clear - we have the power over life and death. Bow down to us today or pay the consequences." To reinforce this message Coca Cola have enlisted the help of celebrity spokesperson the Grim Reaper. In a deal purported to be worth $180m over three years Death will appear in Coca Cola television advertisements, in point of purchase adverts, and on posters and billboards. The new slogan may have arrived just in time for Coca Cola after a dismal year for the drinks manufacturer. Senior executives hope that this bold new advertising campaign and slogan will help Coca Cola stave off the effects of worsening economic times. Coca Cola's New Zealand regional sales manager Kirsten Haywood is also very excited by the new slogan. "I would like to point out that I am merely a humble messenger and Coke works in mysterious ways, but I feel this new slogan will induce a new awakening of spiritual consciousness amongst the 14-24 demographic in all of our key rural and urban geographic markets." ![]() The chilling new advertising campaign from Coca Cola |
