| Spinner, New Zealand's leading news source celebrates its first year in publication this month. The first issue of Spinner was officially launched in August 2000 at a luncheon attended by Prime Minister Helen Clark. In the following 12 months Spinner has quickly become New Zealand's leading news source on the Internet. So to celebrate dear loyal reader I'm taking you down to the pub for a pint.
Come on get your coat, there's a taxi waiting outside. Don't worry about that you can do that tomorrow; we have a party to attend. Don't worry it's all taken care of you won't have to pay for a single drink, my buddy Dave's working behind the bar and he'll give us free drinks when the boss isn't looking. Look no one will notice you're gone, its not as though you do anything anyway. Did I mention that that hottie you've had your eye on for the past couple of weeks is going to be there? In the past year Spinner has been likened to a pillar of gold and crystal standing out amongst the quagmire of rotten sheep carcasses that is the New Zealand media industry. Spinner has been awarded one Qantas media award, while 80 percent of New Zealanders say that Spinner is the news source that they trust most often. The publishers of Spinner, ICD Communications collected advertising revenue of $20 million dollars last year and the words snip, ripe, penis, pin, rip and spine can all be made from the word Spinner. Oh that's the taxi driver tooting, come on let's go. |
