| Nelson (PA): Nelson man Shane Leary yesterday walked an extra 2 kms to purchase a copy of "18" magazine from the One Stop Shop Diary and Takeaways on King St, despite living just 200m from the Local 4 Square on Civic Rd. "I was coming home from cricket practice, and had a sudden urge to top up my porno collection, which is looking pretty sad at the moment." reported Leary. "I know the local 4 Square sells porn, and its only just up the road, but I felt more comfortable going the long way home and stopping by the Boomerang Dairy for the purchase of my jazz-mag."
Leary walked the extra distance despite knowing not only that his neighbouring 4-Square sold both high and low quality pornogragraphy magazines, but also which issueds and the prices charged for each issue. By way of explanation Leary stated "It's just that I go to the 4 Square all thetime to buy my Sunday Star Times and milk. I wouldn't want Rashid thinking I was some kind of porno fiend." This is not the first time that Leary has purchased pornography from a non-local distbnutor. In 1997 Leary prucahsed the December Issue of Men Only while driving through Ashburton on his way home from visting realatives. While as recently as December last year Leary hired a copy of "Sleazin' Las Vagas" from the Richmond Video-Ezy rather than the more closely located City branch. ![]() The One Stop Shop Diary and Takeaways on King Street |
