LOWER HUTT - Local journalist Larry Stevens claims to have stumbled across a journalistic formula that will catapult him to the apex of New Zealand journalism, and perhaps earn him the prestigious Pulitzer Prize for journalism.

"I happened upon the question when I was having a cigarette outside Kiwi Kebabs down in the Hutt last year," Stevens told Spinner. "Who do you think rocked up in his BMW M3 but Dancing with the Stars' very own Jason Gunn, asking me for directions. After telling him that Eastbourne was down the Queens Road somewhat, left at Petone and to follow the Harbour round, suddenly a question popped into my mind as quick and as flashy as a Kirkcaldie and Stains sale."

"'What do you think of the Hutt, Mr Gunn?' I asked him. He said something along the lines of it not being too bad, matey potatey, and then he drove off. I forgot all about my kebab and rushed home to get the copy down and submit it to my editor."

The Hutt News, New Zealand's Best Community Newspaper as judged at the 2005 Qantas Media Awards, published the story that week, taking Stevens' name to the front page.

When asked how he planned to make a play for the Pulitzer Prize, Stevens claimed to have insider information that Titanic director James "JC" Cameron and Alien/Aliens star Sigourney Weaver are shooting sci-fi flick “Avatar” in Wellington this spring and would be staying in a reputable hotel near the Wellington waterfront . "I'm going to hang out at the front of the Museum Hotel and when they emerge for shooting... bang! I'll pounce and I'll ask them" Mr Cameron, Ms Weaver, what do you think of New Zealand?"
