WELLINGTON: Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Michael Cullen anonymously forwarded a story on Tony Blair’s retirement to Prime Minister Helen Clark today.  The story entitled “Blair: 10 Years is enough” featured on the New Zealand Herald website and outlined Blair’s reasons for retiring, before briefly summarising his time as Prime Minister of Britain.

Cullen stated that the message was from “A Friend” in the Your Name text box on the forward article page of the Herald website.  In the Add Personal Message text box he added “I thought this might be of interest to you.  Some food for thought for 2007.  Signed Anon.”

It is understood that Trevor Mallard and Steve Maharey also anonymously forwarded the same article to Clark, while Winston Peters printed out the article and slipped it under Helen’s office door at the Beehive.  It is not known whether Clark has read the email yet.
