| NEW ZEALAND - The writers at Spinner are slowly returning to their number one passion - providing you with the best news in the known universe - after separating temporarily to work on various PR assignments. "I'm chuffed with how I've gone convincing our proud nation to once again love a sport they really don't care about in a marketing campaign that's owned by an airline where woman will never be pilots," beamed Spinner's managing editor, Stirling Pace. "There's a few things to clear up, but believe me once we have all new Zealanders buying red burquas to bring home the cup my job with Team New Zealand will be well and truly done and I'll be giving Spinner 110 percent." Australian correspondent Dan Under is also returning to Spinner over the coming months. "I've taken on a huge role as John Howard's chief election planner. It really is amazing how stupid us Aussies are. We're a few months out from the federal elections and my job's all but done - I've managed to convince most Aussies that they actually like that Kermit-the-Frog lookalike." Under may take more time off next summer, however. "There's a huge campaign to run next year - I've got to convince Aussies that they have enough water for their weekly showers." Unfortunately there have been some changes to the old Spinner team. Entertainment writer Jon Lemon has formed an experimental rock band with Japanese wife and has refused to return to work with the rest of the core team. His desk is now occupied by Bubbles, a monkey liberated from GlaxoSmithKlein Ribena experiments by our undercover environmental writer, Nandor. We're certain Bubbles will produce copy equally as enthralling as Lemon's was. So it's back to the grindstone for most of the staff here at Spinner. We look forward to bringing you the world's news as it happens, and sometimes before! |
