| AUCKLAND - Ousted One Network News presenter Judy Bailey and Close Up
presenter Susan Wood have denied rumours they are leaving journalism
altogether to begin new careers as co-madames of a Remuera bondage and
discipline brothel. The pair, who have a combined salary of $1.3 million, have laughed off the rumours, which surfaced after a Remuera real estate agent announced he had sold the two beseeched TVNZ news readers a property worth $3 million. One insider told Spinner that Wood's engagement to Kevin Stanley was on the rocks - and that this was related to the speculation. "He was expecting to marry the second richest woman in New Zealand television. Since her pay has been slashed by TVNZ he's made it quite clear he might as well marry Bernadine Oliver Kirby. Selling sexual preferences to high profile Aucklanders might be an avenue Susan would consider to regain her salary standards." Bailey, who hasn't faced speculation on her sexuality since the ugly "German Shepherd" rumours of 1983, has denied the house has been purchased for use as a bondage brothel. It's simply as the nursery rhyme goes," Bailey told Spinner. "We need a counting house, to count out all our money." However one K' Rd shopowner, not wanting to be identified, has confirmed that Bailey and Wood recently had a shopping spree on his premesis - spending over $500,000 on leathers, toys and other fetish products. "Yes, the lovely ladies, yes they will unleash it all. Yes, so lovely the ladies. All the leather yes, oh yes, and the chains and stilhettos and all the whips and naughty boys, yes," the man said. |
