Kiwi comic dynamos Matthew Ridge and Marc Ellis are climbing the ratings board with their current series Matthew & Marc’s Rocky Road to South America - so much so that TVNZ are already planning their follow up shows.

TVNZ’s General Manager Programming Annmarie Duff said the sequels would be based around off-camera antics and business transactions while the pair were in South America.

"There is one particular hilarious scene that we edited out for this series where Marc dresses as a 1980’s styled Florida cop and secures $50 million worth of pure cocaine from a Colombian cartel before preparing to ship it back to mates in New Zealand. Can you imagine their surprise when the parcel arrives?" she chuckled.

"The pair are comic geniuses," Duff added as she wiped her tears of laughter. "Marc has already presented ideas to me for two follow up shows."

Marc will swap his pastel suit for a turban and camel as he trades nuclear material for poppies and heroin in Afghanistan.

Matthew and Marc’s Rocky Road to South America airs Tuesday nights at 10pm on TV2.
