| AUCKLAND - Florence Tyler, 29, was satisfied with the explanation of her son Gavin, 12, after launching an investigation into the apparent vandalism of her November issue of Cosmopolitan. The investigation focused on both of her children and no other suspects were sought. Neither of the Tyler children were grounded following the investigation.
The investigation came after Mrs. Tyler, a solo mother from Grey Lynn, found pages 124-131 from her unread Cosmo stuck together. "At first, I thought someone had glued together the Halle Berry interview just to annoy me - my kids know what a fan I am of her acting ability and that I hadn't yet read the article. But when I pried the pages apart, I noticed that the adhesive didn't smell toxic and had a bittersweet taste. It couldn't be glue." Mrs. Tyler immediately approached her two children for questioning. Ruining Mum's magazine carries a maximum penalty of no pocket money or Dharma & Greg for a month. "Mum was so mad. She threw her packet of Horizon 30's at me and shook her magazine in front of my face," said Shelley, 10. "I last seen Gavin taking it in to the toilet - that's what I told her." Gavin told his mother that he been eating a pottle of yogurt while reading the article. Reputed for his piggy eating habits, Gavin spilled his yogurt over one of the glossy Halle Berry photographs. "I am satisfied that Gavin didn't do this deliberately and we're happy to bring and end to the matter," said Mrs Tyler. She added that she was fortunate the yogurt hadn't hardened and she was still able to read the article after wiping it off with a Handy Towel. Gavin Tyler refused to comment to Spinner, though sources say he is looking forward to the release of the new Bond film, Die Another Day, on DVD. ![]() The "yogurt" contaminated issue |
