| BALCLUTHA: A record number of entries have been received for the South Otago Gay Farmer of the Year Competition to be held in Balclutha.
Event organiser Jack Fergus said that seventeen farmers will take compete this year, up from the twelve that entered last years inaugural competition. Contestants will be judged on their Practical Farming skills, and both their Farming and General knowledge. Contestants will also take part in a tight buns contest and be quizzed on and their knowledge of Judy Garland films. Money raised from this years contest will go towards the re-roofing of the Balclutha Memorial Hall. |
