BLUFF: Mother Nature is reportedly "devastated" at missing an opportunity to wipe the town of Invercargill off the map in the early hours of Sunday morning, and has more than made her displeasure felt by subjecting the whole of New Zealand to a lashing of snow flurries, rain and gale force winds.

WELLINGTON - A document leaked from the Office of the Human Rights Commission shows that city eatery, Marie's Cafe, has exhibited racial discrimination in its internal promotion processes and may be subjected to a fine of up to $100,000.

AUCKLAND: Meeting Dick Hubbard in a costume store is a novel approach to an interview. He has a party to go to, he says, and is looking for the perfect outfit. He greets me warmly, as he does, nodding with that head of his like an elderly Michael J. Fox, and ushering me over to the tights section. I ask him about the future of Auckland. "This is just what I've been proposing for several years," Hubbard says as he goes through the various costumes marked superhero.

PALMERSTON NORTH: A Massey University study into the breakfast spread preferences of dyslexic subjects has uncovered some surprising results. In research conducted by researchers at the University, it was found that dyslexic subjects were far more likely to show no preference between Marmite and Vegemite as a non-dyslexic control group.
