WELLINGTON - A larger than expected distribution of lollies and other sweets, such as chocolate afghans, by grandmothers across New Zealand has led to the suggestion that there will be increased pressure for a rise in interest rates.

INVERCARGILL - Police are investigating the alleged fraudulent sale of "Petal" the Pig on Trademe.co.nz, after an anonymous source claimed the real pig was eaten by The World's Fastest Indian stars Sir Anthony Hopkins and Tim Shadbolt in a debauched post-shooting party when the film was completed in Invercargill earlier this year.
 
Poll suggests schools not producing enough bored students for workplace

A recent poll suggests that Schools are failing in their goal of preparing students for the work force.  According to the latest findings of a research project tracking the lives of 500 Wellington children, about a third of 14-year-olds say they are bored at school.
